Trailer Released for Adam Sandler’s New Netflix Film: ‘You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah’
Sandler’s daughters Sunny and Sadie have leading roles in the coming-of-age comedy film.
Adam Sandler’s newest Netflix comedy is a genuine family project. You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah stars Sandler’s teenage daughters Sunny and Sadie, with Sandler portraying their father.
Adapted from Fiona Rosenbloom’s young adult novel, the official synopsis states: “Life-long best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine) have always dreamed of incredible bat mitzvahs, but when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans hilariously unravel.”
The film is helmed by director Sammi Cohen (Crush) from a screenplay by Alison Peck, produced through a collaboration between Happy Madison and Alloy Entertainment. The cast also includes Idina Menzel, Sarah Sherman, Luis Guzmán, and Jackie Sandler.
The film is the newest project under Sandler’s current $250 million Netflix deal. The actor-comedian has already produced an impressive eight titles for the streaming giant, spanning from the somewhat notorious Western parody The Ridiculous Six to the dramedy Sandy Wexler to his acclaimed stand-up special 100% Fresh (which, for the record, earned a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score, living up to its name).
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah debuts on Netflix on August 25th.
