The trailer for ‘Rebel Moon’ provides a clearer look at Zack Snyder’s space epic.

The initial installment of the movie, named ‘A Child of Fire,’ is scheduled for release on December 22nd, with the sequel, ‘The Scargiver,’ set to premiere in April.

In the debut trailer for ‘Rebel Moon,’ directed by Zack Snyder and narrated by Anthony Hopkins, we witness Snyder’s spirited vision taking flight. The sci-fi adventure showcases Sofia Boutella as Kora, an enigmatic figure who leads the planet’s pacifist inhabitants in a rebellion against an oppressive regime.

Joining the cast alongside Boutella are Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Staz Nair, Michiel Huisman, Charlie Hunnam, E. Duffy, and Djimon Hounsou. Notably, Anthony Hopkins lends his voice to the character of Jimmy, a robotic presence in the film.

This marks the first installment of a two-part film that Zack Snyder has nurtured over the years. Interestingly, he initially conceived it as a potential Star Wars project. However, when Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the idea was temporarily shelved. During this time, Snyder turned his focus to directing projects within the DC Universe, including ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.’

In 2021, Zack Snyder shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “This project is a reflection of my evolution as a fan of Akira Kurosawa and Star Wars. It embodies my passion for science fiction and grand adventures. My aspiration is for it to evolve into a significant intellectual property and a sprawling universe.”

Snyder undertook the unique approach of filming both parts consecutively. The initial segment is named ‘A Child of Fire,’ and the sequel is titled ‘The Scargiver.’ Netflix is set to release the first part of ‘Rebel Moon’ on December 22, with the second part following on April 19, 2024.
