Netflix Trailer Shines Light on Boy Scouts Abuse Scandal: “This Is an Abomination”

A forthcoming documentary investigates the sexual abuse scandal and cover-up within the Boy Scouts of America organization.
An upcoming Netflix documentary is uncovering the child sexual abuse scandal within the Boy Scouts of America.
The feature documentary Scout’s Honor (see trailer below) reveals “how the Boy Scouts organization tried to conceal one of history’s most horrific cases of child abuse” through “exclusive interviews with whistleblowers, survivors, and ex-employees.”
The trailer states there have been over 82,000 documented abuse allegations against former scout leaders who were trusted to educate and safeguard children in the youth development program, which was established in 1910.
“I don’t care if I bring the whole organization down, this is an abomination,” declares one interviewee in the trailer. Another states, “I know children are still at risk in Scouting.”
In a 2021 statement, the Boy Scouts of America said they were “devastated by the number of lives impacted by past abuse in Scouting” and that “the reactions from survivors have been heartbreaking.” They added, “We are deeply sorry.”
The documentary, directed by Brian Knappenberger (Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror) and produced by Conor Fetting-Smith, Sabrina Parke, and Clive Patterson, with executive producers Knappenberger and Orlando von Einsiedel, will be released on Netflix on September 6th.
