Bradley Cooper’s new film ‘Maestro’ to debut in the U.S. at the New York Film Festival

The New York Film Festival will host the North American premiere of Bradley Cooper’s new film Maestro on October 2, 2022. The festival coincidentally takes place on a street named after the film’s subject, legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. Maestro will be the NYFF’s Spotlight Gala this year and will be the first film shown at the newly renovated David Geffen Hall, now equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The film is a Netflix project directed by and starring Bradley Cooper as Bernstein.
Bradley Cooper’s highly anticipated Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro has found its stateside premiere home at the prestigious New York Film Festival this October. In a fitting full-circle moment, the film will debut at the newly renovated David Geffen Hall, the former home of the New York Philharmonic which was led by Bernstein himself for over a decade.
Maestro has lined up an all-star ensemble cast including Carey Mulligan, Maya Hawke, and Matt Bomer, and was produced by directorial legends Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. It will first premiere overseas at the Venice Film Festival before landing in New York.
The Netflix project marks Cooper’s second directorial effort after 2018’s A Star is Born. He also stars as the iconic American composer and conductor. NYFF’s artistic director Dennis Lim called it an “enthralling film” and an honour to showcase it at the iconic Lincoln Center venue so closely tied to Bernstein’s legacy.
